Hello Nice Peoople,

Goodbye Dom Deluise. A class act. A funny man.

Another old timer abandoning us. Leaving us with foul mouthed, no talent comedians. You always made me laugh. God Speed..............

The Motel Next Door

Hello Nice People,

Donna over at "Just Me" blogged about how she enjoys the early morning hours. I have to agree, its the best part of the day. I love sitting out on the deck in the Spring and Summer with my coffee and the morning paper. Of course, thats only when I don't have to go to work. I have neighbors on 2 sides and in the back, but the back yard is SO private, I can go out in my nightgown and no one sees me. That was then.......The house next door was an elderly lady who never came out when she WAS at home. Poor thing left for her sisters house 2 years ago and from there she went to a nursing home. She passed away in October. Now, her sisters son in law has bought the house and fixed it up. The plan is that they will use it as a little vacation house for the different members of the family. Uh oh!!!! Could that mean "The Motel Next Door? It looks like my Saturday mornings in my nightgown might be a thing of the past. Oh well, "Live and let live", is what I say. Hey, it might be interesting having all these different people next door.

GHOSTS

Hello Nice People,

Now, do I believe in GHOSTS ?

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. But somewhere, I once read or heard that SPIRITS have been known to show there presence by interfering with the telephone. The telephone of all things. And I have believed THAT for many years. Fourteen years ago, when my father passed away, I needed some paperwork from his doctor. The day after his death, I called and spoke to the receptionist. "I need these papers for John Roche." It was at this point that we both heard, through the phone, a squeeky, very high pitched voice that said "John Roche? Who's John Roche!? And again, John Roche? Who's John Roche!? I remember taking the phone from my ear and l0oking at it. What the heck was that? I asked the girl on the other end. "It wasn't anyone here, it must have been on your end," she said. "Noo, I 'm here by myself," I said. "I think I better call you back" Well, I thought about that, and I have eversince felt it was my Poor ole Pa making his presence known.

Later, there was another time when my neice and I were discussing the death of a relative when we suddenly got a high pitched squeal sound that was impossible to talk over.

This brings me to the present. Yesterday, Joyce and I were discussing the very recent death of her son-in-law, and the details at the hospital before he died. Unfortunatly, he died from lung cancer as the result of a lifetime of heavy, heavy smoking. I guess we put to much blame on the deceased, because it was at that point that both of our phones went DEAD. Even the light went out on my phone. Stone cold dead, not a sound from it. I waited for Joyce to call me back. When she did, she said her phone also was stone cold dead. Weee ooooo, weeeeooooo!!!!

What do ya think, could it have been........A GHOST??????

Hello Nice People,

Again, I am on my little laptop because Hubby is hogging my desktop playing cards. Annnd, I have very few pictures loaded on here, so here are two of Riley on the front porch with a visiting Opossum. They are great friends. I am watching with one eye, while I type, the Presidents 100 day news conference. Someone asked him about abortion and he went on for 4 minutes but never did answer the question. Politicians!!!

Swine Flu?? Am I missing something here? Is this a little overboard, or is it really the end of the world as we know it?

THIS IS THE FLU!!!!!! People get the flu all the time. 36,000 people die from the flu every year. (So I have read) The flu runs its course, sore throat, sniffles, aches and pains and a temperature, and then it goes away. Or the media finds something else to talk about. Whichever comes first. Oh well, I could use some time off from school to clean the house.

Hello Nice People
That's just Riley over there. He's kind of a nomad, a vagabond. Someone moved away from the street in back of us about 10 years ago and left this nice orange cat to fend for himself. He waited on the front porch for a few years until he finally gave up. I have been taking care of him eversince. He comes inside for a short time and then he's off again. The lady next door took him in and shared in his care for a few years. She enjoyed his company until she passed away in October. Poor Riley, now he sits on HER porch, waiting for her to come back. He's a good cat.

Hello Nice People

Not too much happening today. Rain, rain and more rain. It 's been raining since Sunday night. I'm off from work all this week and I haven't been out of the house since church on Sunday. But it hasn't been a total loss. I cleaned some drawers. Threw away clothes that are getting shabby. Cleaned the silverware drawer, and spent at least part of the time just playing on the computer. Let's see, I watched The View, watched Oprah, watched Ellen and Tyra, and saw every piece of news about the untimely death of Harry Kalas. What happened to the Octomom? She would have been good for a couple hours of mindless TV viewing. Hey, and I even cleaned up my blog. I added some pictures. Those little darlings up there are my Grandsons. Thats Nick (13) and Angelo (12) and Anthony (10). Well, now the weather channel is on and they are predicting clearing late tonight and a nice tomorrow. Yes, yes, and yes!!!! Everyone have a nice evening and I think I am going to wash the dog.

Another entry already

Hello Nice People,

Good job USA! Something to make us feel proud. We watched Fox news yesterday about the rescue of the ship Captain while we ate Easter dinner.

I am off from work for a whole week. What a great feeling when you know you don't have to get up for work tomorrow. Not that I am a sleeper. Up at 5 AM. I love the morning when it is all mine. We have some things planned this week to catch up around the house like painting. We are off to Home Depot in a few minutes to pick out paint. Uh oh!!! I guess that is delayed for an hour cuz Hubby just said," I think we DO have a mouse cuz I just heard scratching behind the dishwasher." I have been telling him I hear scratching up in the attic during the night. But he says "Nah, its branches rubbing on the roof." If there is a mouse or mice in the attic, I guess we have to get rid of him or he will be peeing all over the insulation. And there are afghans up there and winter clothes. Oh yeh, since I am off from work, I plan to clean up my blog. Get rid of those horrible colors. Off to Home Depot!!!!
