I just got in from work and turned on this machine.  I have not been on for a few days.  I was so shocked to learn that we will soon be losing our Journals.  I hope there is a way to save all of our work.  I hope we don't lose our cyber friends.  I am still paying for AOL, $24.00 a month because i like my AOL.  But I guess all good things come to an end.  Is there more info to come??  I sure hope so!!!!

Ready for some Football

                                   Hello Nice People,

Saturday was a busy day.  I wanted to get out to the stores----just me----no hubby.   Believe me, there IS such a thing as too much togetherness.  We both went to Target last Sunday to get a present for a wedding shower I have coming up.   I picked out one thing and he is ready to go.  So back yesterday by myself. I checked her registry, looking for something easy.  The brides registry was six pages WOW!!!!.  And you have to search for the aisle and the little tag on the shelf to see if its the one she picked out.  I think it was easier when we just went and bought what WE liked.  And what UGLY colors  she picked.  Towels and sheets in "Pidgeon GREY."  UGH!!  But I guess bridal registrys are a good idea because I would have bought her everything in Country and Rachel Ashwells Shabby Chic.  Her registry had everything from a $1600.00 TV to a $150.00 pup tent.....Go figure!

Then, Grandson Angelo had a football game at 2 PM.  He is 11 yo and plays JV ball.  And I have to say, he is quite good.  My son, Dominic is the coach.  And the two of them live and breathe local football.

Dominic and Angelo at an  Eagles game last year.

We sat on the bleachers watching Dominic barking commands and pulling kids in and out.  The sounds and the smells....people talking....cheerleaders cheering....the sun going in and out of the clouds....one minute its hot, the next minute its cold.  I closed my eyes and I was back 30 years when Dominic was the little kid playing out there.

He was 7 and I took him by the little hand to register for FOOTBALL.  I remember saying to Mr Sinagria, "Now he's only seven, I hope he's not going to get hurt."  Well, that was the beginning of 8 more years of "Dominic, get ready for football.....Dominic, where's your pads....Dominic, where's your helmet, your cup, your spikes?   But it was 8 great fun  years that we spent with other families watching and working little kids football.  Eight years that we lined up our pick up trucks and sat on the tailgates to watch the kids play.  Eating baloney and mayo sandwiches and passing around a roll of toilet paper for napkins.

Yesterday, I watched the young Moms in their 30's, photo buttons of their players or cheerleaders pinned to their shirts, (we never had them).  Dads walking back and forth on the sidelines complaining that their son has not played yet.

I closed  my eyes and went back 30 years.  Nothing has changed.  Except Dominic is now the Dad, and HIS wife is now over their with all the other Moms.

And we are just Grandmom and Poppy.........sitting on the bottom row of the bleachers cuz its too hard to climb to the top.

Ange got to go on the field at an EAGLES game.

Here's Ange with  announcer Tony Seragusa

Ange with some Eagles Cheerleaders.

And Dominic coaching.

Hanna, Fleas, School

Hello Nice People,

We are supposed to get some of Hurricane Hanna tomorrow but it is already raining tonite.  It is coming down in sheets that I can hardly see thru.  Maybe it will let up in the morning for awhile so that we can get some of the outside "stuff" battened down.  Like the patio umbrella, chairs, trash cans, flower pots. bed frame.  Wait, bed frame?  Yup there's a bed frame in the back yard and if it blows over, it will hit the Blessed Mother Cage..............don't ask!
FLEAS............We are having a terrible time with fleas this summer.  Poor little Gloriebelle is really suffering.  Now I have told you before that Gloriebelle has NO hair.

She is one sad looking little doggie.
So I keep shirts on her most of the time so  she does not dig herself raw....which she does anyway.  If she has one flea,  she gets hot to the touch and digs til she is red and sore.  She runs out back to pee pee and runs back in and they still find her.  So every time she  goes out,  and comes back in,  hubby searches for that one hitchhiker.  We do flea spray sparingly because its not good to put it on bare skin.  Then the A&D ointment on any spots she has dug sore before we got to her.
Daddys little girl............................................

School has started.  We just finished our first week.  I am a little disappointed in my run.  It is just too darn long.  My morning run is 3 and one half hours.   And the afternon run is 3 and one half hours. My first pick up is at 6:45, and we get in at 9:30.  There was a day when I would be thrilled to have that many hours,  but I am getting too old for this.   The kids are spread out so far that I am covering 110 miles morning and 100 miles afternoon .  Hey,  I had a run 10 years ago that was 340 miles total per day.  And that one was a killer.  I just cannot handle that anymore.   While I am driving, my back hurts, and my knee hurts because I cannot stretch my left leg.  The kids are good so who am I to complain.  I shouldn't say I cannot handle it.  It's just not as enjoyable as it used to be.

OMG  look what time it is.  I am Outta Here.

Republican Convention

Hello Nice People,

Well, I was going to do a wonderful, soul stirring, never forget entry tonite.  but I just can't do it.  I had some good things to say but I don't have my entire mind on what I am saying.  I am on POLITICS OVERLOAD!.  With one eye on the computer and one eye and 2 ears on the Television and the Convention.  I just love this stuff.  Even if it is dumb. Bill O'Reilley, Dick Morris, Pat Buchanan, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter,  Joe Lieberman.........It's too much to  digest all in one night.  And Hubby is in the bedroom stuck with the little TV.  Its my night and Sci Fi Be damned!  I have my cup of tea, my footstool and my undivided attention.

And I am  OUTA HERE..............Bye All
