HALLOTHANKSMAS

Yeh, Christmas.   Christmas is fast approaching, and I am not into it.  I am still reminiscing about Summer.  Actually it seems like Summer is just around the corner.  Well, I DO mean the corner back there. The one we passed a bit ago.  The weather is still warm and mild.  The trees haven’t even lost their leaves yet, and here it is mid-November.  Exactly one week from Thanksgiving.  What did we used to call this time of year?             Hallothanksmas.  Yeh, thats it, Hallothanksmas. I haven’t heard that for a long time.  Thats when three holidays run together.  Take a little ride and you see some houses with Hallloween decorations and some with Christmas decorations.  Now thats  Hallothanksmas.

I FINALLY DID IT

Oh gosh,  I forget how to post on my Blog.  Hmmmm, how did I used to put in pictures?  This is what I get for being MIA for so long. But who cares about that.  Well, while I was gone,  I went on another DIET.  This time, I did Low-Carb.  Started on August 4th of 2008.  Good Lawdy Miss Clawdy!!!!  That was 2 years ago!   And it worked!!  At least while I stayed on it.  Start eating carbs and guess what,  the weight comes back with a vengance.  So now, I’m trying to get back to the low-carb lifestyle.  Yes I am too trying.  Its the hardest thing…..so much harder than the first time.

There, I did it.  FINALLY a post on my BLOG.  I’ve been wanting to do this for so long, but for some reason, I just  couldn’t find the words in my little old head.  Now, I have to figure out how I used to put in pictures.    Bear with me!!!!!

Hello nice people,
It's 4 AM. Sunday morning, February 14. I am up and wide awake. I woke up around 3 and couldn't get back to sleep. I finally got up and made a cup of tea. Let's see, whats good at 4 AM. Apple and spice and a Green tea bag. Put them together with 4 Splendas. Hmmmm, tastes pretty good. Although I miss the creamer that I usually put in tea. But I don't think creamer goes with apple and green tea. What is the use of laying there when you can't sleep. So many things start to whirl around in the old brain. And the world always seems worse in the middle of the night. I think I even blogged about this before.....on one of those other sleepless nights. Actually, I did sleep well from 10 o'clock til now.
This might be a good time to try and make an entry on my blog. I have really been avoiding it for such a long time. I haven't even been keeping up with other blogs. Maybe I am over rested. We have been off for what? 4 days because of the snow. Well, I did have to go out Friday for a short run. One of the high schools was open and it was my responsibility to get them there. AND....I got stuck!!!!!!! Got stuck between a car that was sticking too far out into the road and a snow bank on the other side. Everytime I tried to squeeze by, the bus would slide so close to this car that I couldn 't get a slip of paper between them if I tried.
High blood pressure time. People are so inconsiderate. This guy never shoveled out his driveway, so he just left his car half in the street and went in the house. It was 6 o'clock in the morning and here I am trying to knock down a snowbank with a broomstick in someones elses neighborhood. From the satellite, it must have been funny scene. Thank goodness the satelite doesn't have sound!

We are halfway through the school year. I am a counter. I think the Sesame Street Count should be my hero. February 11th was the hundredth day. That means 80 to go. And its SUMMER TIME!!!!! applause, shouts of joy. Now I am really rambling. Is it because I'm trying to fill space or the green tea is working. Well maybe I will get comfy in my recliner with a blanket and catch a few before its time to get ready for church. Niters.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz.....What a world!

A Snow Day For Me

SDC10213

Hello Nice People,

We had a snow day today.  What a treat.  Its good to NOT have to get out there and fight the ice and bad roads at 6 o’clock in the morning.  Early morning driving is the scariest kind in the bad weather.  Curves and corners always seem to be the worst spots.

SDC10212Snow days always feel like you are getting away with something.  Like when you were a little kid and skipped a day of school, then went out anyway.   Thats what I did today.  Went to the Supermarket, stopped at my girlfriends house and  solved some family problems over a cup of coffee and a “Hello Dollie Cookie.”  Well, maybe not solved, but discussed thoroughly.

SDC10223 Its a good thing it was so cold today.  We got so involved in our conversation that I forgot I had meat and milk out in the car.  All was OK.

HELLO DOLLIE COOKIES

1 stick of butter (melted)

1and a half cups Graham Cracker Crumbs

1and a half cups chopped nuts

1  6oz package chocolate chips

1and half cups coconut

1 can condensed milk drizzled.

Layer in a large oval pan starting with the butter.   Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.  Let cool and slice into squares.

Christmas is 4 days away.

I am such a slacker

SDC10214

Hello Nice People,

I could go on and on here about where I have been and why I haven’t had an entry for such a long time. I could say its because my life has been filled up with really important things.  Or I could say that its only because the cat was sleeping on my computer chair.  Neither is true.  I am such a slacker.  An avoider. A “don’t face the problem” kind of person.  Sure, I can’t think of anything to put into MY Blog, so I avoid everyone elses too.  I have missed so much. Like whats happening over at My Southern Home with Sonya and the teen and little Tugie.  And I’ve missed Sugar  and her little doggie Sweetpee.  And Donna and Cliff, what are they up too lately?  I I Don’t know because I have avoided all blogs.  Kind of like hiding behind a tree when you don’t want anyone to see you.  And Peggy at A Primitive Plot,  what is she cooking and whats the latest doll she is making.  And Linda from Wahington,  how could I avoid her blog?  I love her travelogs. And Kelly, whats going on in her world of chickens? Today, I am facing my problem.  No longer am I an “avoider.”  I am here, and I am going to read  and comment on all the Blogs I have missed.  I feel better already!!
