Hello Nice People,
Today is a milestone in my life. Today is my daughters 40th birthday. Forty years.......40 years......the big 4-0. I have to see it to actually believe it. Melody was born on the day that Bobby Kennedy was assassinated. So you will never hear ME say, "How long has RFK been gone?" ---40 YEARS!! In those forty years, Melody has become a daughter to be proud of. She is a married lady with 2 boys, one handicapped.
And never has anyone ever heard her complain or ask "Why me?" She is absolutely the best that I could have hoped that she would become. So Happy birthday Melody, we love you.
Yesterday was my mothers birthday. She would be 102 years old, if she was still here. She died on October 29, 1982 at 76 years old. But now she would be celebrating 102 years. When my mother died, she was not speaking to me. There were lots of family members that she cherished, but I was not one of them. She has been gone 26 years and I still think of her every day. I thought of her a lot yesterday. I wonder how many of her cherished ones had her in THEIR thoughts yesterday.
Tonight we will just have some cake and tea to celebrate the big 4-0. Just something so the 2 boys can light the candles and help Mommy blow them out.

Happy birthdays! Your daughter is so pretty and the boys are little cuties. I can tell they love their mom. That has to be a hard one to not be on good terms with your mom at that time. Good nite:)..........alice
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your 40 yr. old daughter and my 36 year old daughter. I guess we were in labor together and didn't know it Marlene. How funny. My granddaughter's b/day is tomorrow so we are focusing on her sleepover and Sat. party for now and then on Sunday we will celebrate my daughter's b/day much the same way you guys are. Then on the 14th. by g/son's b/day and on the 27 my other g/son's b/day. Can you say Christmas in June...LOL.

Natalie (my 10 year old) was born on the night that Lady Di died. I thought I'd had nightmares after her birth, but my husband soon told me that the TV was right. Lady Di was gone. But my daughter was finally here. (remind me to tell you sometime why I thought Natalie would never be born.) Anyway, happy b-day to Melody!
