Hello Nice People,
Today was a busy one. I had 4 or 5 things to do and places to go today. I didn't even get a chance to do a Food Friday entry. I have to renew my bus drivers license in October. So that involves a physical, fingerprinting and a few other pain in the arse things. I went for blood work yesterday and the doctor called today and said he wants to see me next week because my hemoglobin is too high. I was already scheduled to see him next Friday. My life just goes along with no real medical issues. But I am getting older and I know things are going to start showing up. I am overweight but until now never had a sugar problem. I never feel really good, but I never whine to others and I just shrug it off and keep plugging along. I think I always felt that no one wants to hear my problems, they have enough of their own.....and if you give them two minutes they will tell you all about them. Hubby is diabetic and checks his sugar every morning. A week or so ago he checked mine and it was high. So I had a feeling something was coming down. The scary thing is that if my physical shows high sugar, Motor Vehicles will take my CDL license. Gotta get serious about losing some weight so that Diabetes doesn't show up.
Its a sad day here at the Jersey Shore. We lost 6 local people in a plane crash in Minnesota. One from Margate, one from Absecon, 4 from Galloway. They were all executives from the new casino project that is going up in AC. It seems like everybody knew one or more of them. How fragile life is and JOB TITLES and MONEY mean absolutely nothing. Loving, living and respecting one another is the KEY to this life here on Earth. One day we will all be gone and what will our legacy be? No one gets out of here alive.

Wow, can't believe that they would take your liscense if your sugar is high! I hope things go well with that.

I hope you do not have to forfeit your licence. Cut sugar from your diet right away and stick to a good diet. Very sad about that plane crash. By the way, I have posted but alerts are down. It seems nobody is getting them.

Sugar
Praying your sugar is OK Marlene. I too am overweight and have been very lucky in the sugar dept. I am currently trying to lose a few pounds to help my back and (fake) knees.
ReplyDeleteI've often thought how sad it is that someone like my mom (for instance) who led a wonderful life and was good to everyone she knew, leaves this earth and eventually is totally forgotten. After I die, the memory of her great life is forever gone. Unless we are famous or do something earth-shattering, that is the fate of us all. Good thing there is life after death huh?
Hugs, Joyce
Hi Marlene, didn't get an alert for this; just checking on favorites for entries since alerts haven't been working right for me for over a week. Even emails sometimes. I have to just check my favorites to see.
ReplyDeleteHope you get your sugar under control and I bet you would feel better. So bad about the plane crash. We have NO guarantees so we'd better try to enjoy each moment as much as possible :)..........alice
I hope everything went well with your physical. I know what you mean about wanting to lose weight. i weigh 264 pounds at 5'7". I struggle with weight loss all the time. I am the same as you. I dont feel well most of the time either. I am getting kind of used to it. I just wish I could lose the weight and feel more energetic....hugs, Christine
